Reading And Math Initiative

The Maniac Reading & Math Initiative was created to help address the poor math and reading performance after the transition back to in person learning after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. This program aims to address the challenges students face in these critical subjects, inspired by Shaquille's own struggles during his educational journey.

Understanding the impact reading and math can have, the foundation has donated over 400 new books to the Lake View Elementary School library, catering to students from 4K through 5th grade. Further, the initiative offers incentives for those who demonstrate improvement in reading and math scores, maintain attendance by not missing more than three days of school, and achieve passing grades on all assignments throughout a semester.

The overarching goal of these programs is to reignite students' passion for learning, particularly in reading and math, by equipping them with essential tools and ensuring that no student is left behind.
